"Hiding out somewhere in the shadows of Prague is the Opium Warlock, who for the last few months has been using drug-based magicks to craft a series of 2 track musical releases swirling with mysterious, garbled fuzz. Each release so far shifts and churns wildly with unpredictable amounts of sludgy noise, psychedelic guitar stylings, ambient buzzing, groaning doom riffs, and/or eerie synth melodies. They provide a wonderfully volatile mix, but in particular "VoidSmoker" from back in October has earned a small place of endearment in my black heart, and I keep coming back to listen to it more and more. The tracks on here are simply dubbed VoidSmoker with a part I and part II and it plays out as one dark trip through the ghostly filth creeping around in your head. A slow, fuzzy, droning riff creates an undercurrent of sound while an organ squeals and moans softly and the guitar lead falls into a trippy loop. This seems to summon a host of undead spirits that manifest themselves in mounting levels of television and radio chatter that washes over your mind. Eventually things drop to an even slower pace as a drawn out, spectral whistling seems to summon an unintelligible demon who draws up low and gravely growls from the depths. Riffs froth and foam in the dark as you embrace the hypnotic rhythm of the music and the erratic, psychedelic touches that slither their way through. It's surreal and mesmerizing in a beautifully ghoulish way - may not be for everyone, but it's definitely for me". -Brandon (Super Dank Metal Jams)
